Fertilization & Seeding

It is essential for a healthy, green looking lawn. Over-seeding helps bring more grass to trouble areas on lawns.

Aeration

Power-Raking

This is one of the best things you can do for your lawn in the spring, though it can also be done in the fall. Deep core aeration de-compacts the soil by removing plugs of soil from the earth, creating a better environment for grass’s roots to thicken and allows water and nutrients to get to the root level. It is especially necessary for Alberta’s clay-based soil.
Many people power-rake in the spring to take all the thatch that has built up over the winter. The tines spin vertically in order to pull up only the dead grass. Everything that is pulled up is then raked and bagged. De-thatching not only makes lawns look greener but allows grass the space it needs to flourish.

Fertilization

Over-Seeding

Fertilization is essential for a healthy, green looking lawn. It is essentially food for your grass. It should be spread on your grass evenly and applied up to four times over the spring, summer, and fall. We use quality fertilizers and can work with your preferences.

Over-seeding helps bring more grass to trouble areas on lawns or generally add grass to pre-existing lawns. On the areas seeded, we try to break up the soil and add mulch to the seed in order to give seeds the best germination environment. It is important to water these areas constantly.
